American Express launched a metal version of The Platinum Card in the US in 2017 and has been slowly rolling it out since. Arguably they have missed the boat in the UK, since Curve, N26 (N26 Metal reviewed here) and Revolut (Revolut Metal reviewed here) have all launched in the last six months. American Express has unveiled new travel perks for holders of its popular Platinum Card, including $200 worth of Uber rides a year. The catch? The annual fee is now $550, up from $450, the first fee increase on the Platinum card in a decade.
